The Minority Worker Training Program is funded by Grant #5 U45 ES007850-12 from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEH).
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician, Level I (requires a D-2 or S-2 Journeyman's License) - The successful candidate has at least 5 years of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration experience that has involved the maintenance of large-volume air handling equipment and functional familiarity with building automation and automatic temperature control systems. In addition the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of skills necessary to deliver outstanding customer service, ability to work as part of a team, ability to work independently and be responsible for trouble-shooting and corrections.
Plumber, Level I (requires a P-2 Journeyman's License, plus F-2, S-2 and Medical Gas Certification preferred) - The successful candidate has at least 5 years experience as a licensed plumber working in a commercial/institutional environment. Experience in a healthcare setting is definitely preferred. In addition the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of skills necessary to deliver outstanding customer service, ability to work as part of a team, ability to work independently and be responsible for trouble-shooting and corrections.
Electrician, Level I (requires an E-2 Journeyman's License) - The successful candidate has at least 5 years experience as a licensed electrician working in a commercial/institutional environment. The candidate must have experience with motor and industrial controls, low-voltage tel-data, fire alarm, high-voltage/transformer distribution systems. In addition the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of skills necessary to deliver outstanding customer service, ability to work as part of a team, ability to work independently and be responsible for trouble-shooting and corrections.
