Scholarship Applications Are Being Accepted

The Greater New Haven Branch of the NAACP is offering scholarships to graduating seniors from the Greater New Haven area who have demonstrated academic excellence, community service, and leadership. Some of the indicators of academic excellence, community service, and leadership include, but are not to be limited to, the following:

•Attainment of a 3.0 or higher un-weighted GPA as of February 2017

•Verifiable history of volunteerism in community or religious-based organizations •Verifiable history of participation in school-sponsored clubs/teams/organizations

We are pleased to offer the following two (2) opportunities for students:

•Two (2) Dr. Susan Moore Lincoln Scholarships each for $1,000

•One (1) $1,000.00 Award from Southern Connecticut State University The scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Greater New Haven NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Dinner, which will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017at the Omni Hotel. Scholarship recipients must attend the dinner.

The enclosed application must be completed in full and returned to us postmarked no later than April 7 th , 2017.
